The recommendation weighs: your court surface and whether you play indoor or outdoor, how often you play, your level, your playing style (flat, spin, touch, all-court), whether you want a livelier or more durable feel, and today's weather at your court (cold and wet both change which ball plays best). Balls built for other surfaces, the wrong duty for indoor play, or outside your level are excluded before anything is scored. Where we have real player review data, it nudges the result — a ball with many consistent reviews counts for more than one with just a few.
